PLEASE NOTE: We would be happy to help counsel you via e-mail about ways to help you keep your pet, rather than re-homing him or her. Your pet has likely become very bonded to you, and this bond is stronger than any potential shortcomings you may feel exist.

If you have tried all these avenues and still find it necessary to re-home your pet, we request the following from you:

• Proof of spay/neuter. Because our organization sees the devastating effects of animal overpopulation every day, we only accept spayed and neutered animals into our courtesy program. Let us know if help is needed to get your pet altered. We will help if possible, or offer alternatives.

• A photo of the pet you are giving up (a face closeup and full body shot are best!).

• A completed information form about the pet.
  

You Must Agree to:

NOT list or give your animal away for free on any site.
FOLLOW the prescribed pre-screening steps (i.e. vet check, phone interview, home visit). We will send you a copy of these steps with tips.
USE an adoption contract (we can provide a generic one for you to use).
ENSURE the pet is heartworm negative and up-to-date on shots before re-homing.
ACCEPT the pet back if the adoption does not work out.
INSIDE PET ONLY: Adopt your animal out as an INSIDE pet only, regardless of breed.
NOTIFY us immediately when your pet is re-homed.
